Hat Fitting Guide
How To Measure Your Head Size
Nicola's custom made hats are made to measure, fitting all shapes and size of heads. When you visit the studio, your head size will be accurately measured.
As a guide, take a tape measure around the widest part of your head; from the forehead around the widest part of your head and back to meet the forehead. Don't pull too tight on the tape or your hat will be too tight. It is useful to insert your pinky under the tape to allow for a little room when measuring, then refer to the chart below for your head size.
Small Fit 53-55cm 21"-21.5"
Standard Fit 56-57cm 22"-22.5"
Large Fit 58-59.5cm 23"-23.5"
Pieces stated as having a universal fitting will fit all head sizes. Often the piece will have a wire claw/construction that will be hair coloured that will fit to your head like a hair band. The piece may also have an elastic band that sits at the back of your head underneath your hair to secure the piece in place. Alternatively the piece may be positioned on a hairband that will be a universal head size.

Look At Your Face In The Mirror And Assess:
1. How wide is the widest point of your forehead in comparison with your jawline? 2. How prominent are your cheekbones compared to your jawline and forehead? 3. Is the widest point of your jawline wider than your forehead? 4. How long is your face? Which Style? Select your face shape below for more detailed information on which style of hat will compliment your face shape. |
Oval
The length of your face is equal to one and a half times the width of your face. Slightly wider at the mid-points of the sides (cheekbone area, right below eye level). Your jawline is softly rounded, not too narrow yet not too wide. Your jawline is slightly narrower than the width at your temples.
